Detailed Itinerary

Your private driver will pick you up from your Marrakech Riad or hotel at 08:00 AM. We leave the plains behind and wind upward into the High Atlas Mountains, stopping for panoramic photos at the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 meters).

By midday, we reach the spectacular ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After a guided walking tour of its mud-brick towers, we break for a relaxed lunch. In the afternoon, the landscape turns arid as we cross the Anti-Atlas range and descend into the vibrant Draa Valley oasis.

Arriving in Zagora by late afternoon, you will transfer to your camel caravan. Trek into the rocky desert plains as the sun sets over the horizon. Reach your private desert camp in time for a warm welcome with mint tea, a hearty Moroccan dinner, and traditional Saharan drumming around the fire.

  • Driving Time: Approx. 6.5–7 hours.

  • Accommodations: Private desert tent (Standard or Luxury options available).

  • Meals: Dinner included.

Awake early to witness a serene desert sunrise over the flat Saharan horizon. Following a traditional breakfast at the camp, you will return via camel (or 4×4 transfer) to meet your driver.

Our return route stops in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Here, you can opt to tour the famous Atlas Film Studios or view the Taourirt Kasbah. We begin our ascent back over the Atlas Mountains, stopping at a scenic riverside location for lunch. Your tour concludes with an evening drop-off back at your original Marrakech accommodation by 06:00 PM.

Zagora is preferred strictly by travelers who want a desert experience but cannot spend 3 full days on the road.

Your large suitcases and main luggage remain locked and perfectly secure inside your private tour vehicle with your driver. You will only need to pack a small daypack with your essentials, camera, and a layer of clothing for the overnight stay at the camp.
