Today is dedicated entirely to discovering Fes, the cultural heart of Morocco. A licensed city guide will show you through the ancient medieval city walls. We take an early breakfast and begin our journey south toward the desert. We climb up into the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in the cool cedar forests of Azrou to feed the friendly wild monkeys. We pass through the high plains for lunch, descend into the massive palm oases of the Ziz Valley, and arrive at the golden edge of the Sahara Desert in Merzouga by late afternoon to relax before your desert experience.
