Detailed Itinerary
Your driver will track your flight and meet you right outside the airport terminal. We will take you straight to your Riad (a traditional Moroccan house built around an indoor garden courtyard). Depending on when your flight lands, you can rest up or take a short walk to see the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square come alive with music and food stalls at night.

Today, you do not need to drive at all. After breakfast, a friendly local guide will meet you at your Riad for a fun walking tour.
You will see the amazing tilework at the Bahia Palace, see the tall Koutoubia Mosque tower, and walk through the historic Jewish quarter. In the afternoon, your guide will show you how to navigate the colorful market alleyways to find the best spices, carpets, and handmade shoes.

We leave the busy city behind after breakfast and head up into the beautiful High Atlas Mountains. The air gets cooler and fresher as we drive up the green valleys.
We will arrive at a beautiful mountain village called Imlil, which sits right at the base of North Africa’s highest peak. You will check into a lovely mountain lodge, meet the local villagers, and enjoy a peaceful evening watching the sunset over the valley.

Put on your walking shoes! Today we take a gentle, guided hiking tour through the mountain valleys.
We will walk past apple orchards, walnut trees, and old earthen villages built right into the hillsides. We will stop to enjoy a hot lunch and fresh mint tea inside a local Berber family’s home. It is a wonderful, relaxed way to learn about mountain culture up close. The walk can be adjusted easily to fit how much you want to hike.
Hiking Time: 2 to 4 hours (easy to moderate pace).

We drive down from the mountains today and travel west toward the Atlantic ocean coast. Along the highway, we will pass through unique forests of Argan trees (look closely, as you might see local goats climbing right up into the branches!).
By early afternoon, we will arrive at the relaxed seaside town of Essaouira. You can spend the rest of your day walking along the wide sandy beach or checking out the fishing port.

Enjoy a relaxed day exploring Essaouira. This town is famous for its wide streets, white houses with bright blue doors, and friendly artists.
A local guide will show you the historic stone sea walls where old cannons still point out to the ocean. You will have plenty of free time in the afternoon to try fresh grilled fish right at the port, shop for unique thuya wood carvings, or sit at a beachside cafe and listen to local musicians.

Enjoy a quiet morning by the ocean. You can do some last-minute gift shopping or take one final walk along the beach.
After lunch, your private driver will pick you up from your Riad and drive you back to Marrakech. We will check you back into your city Riad for your final evening in Morocco.

Not at all. The walks are meant to be fun and relaxing. We walk along clear dirt paths between the villages. Because this is a 100% private tour, you can tell your mountain guide exactly how far or how fast you want to walk. If you prefer not to walk much, we can easily arrange a shorter stroll or a mule ride.
How does this tour compare to a desert tour?
Sahara Desert tours are wonderful, but they require a massive amount of driving (often 7 to 9 hours in a single day). This tour replaces the hot desert sand with cool mountain peaks and a refreshing ocean coast, making it much more relaxing with shorter drives.
