Detailed Itinerary

Your relaxed journey begins with an 08:30 AM pickup from your Marrakech Riad or hotel. We immediately ascend into the High Atlas Mountains, navigating the scenic curves of the Tizi n’Tichka pass.

Instead of rushing down the main highway, we take an exclusive detour along the ancient salt-caravan route through the Ounila Valley. We stop to tour the crumbling, palatial Telouet Kasbah—the historic mountain seat of the Glaoui clan. In the afternoon, we arrive at the iconic clay-brick ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. By staying overnight right next to the monument, you can explore its historic corridors late in the afternoon after the crowded day-trip buses have returned to Marrakech.

  • Driving Time: Approx. 4 hours.

  • Accommodations: Authentic boutique Riad near Ait Ben Haddou.

  • Meals: Dinner included.

After breakfast, we take a short drive to the film hub of Ouarzazate to view the sweeping Taourirt Kasbah. From there, we enter the dense palm groves of the Skoura Oasis to tour Kasbah Amridil, a beautifully preserved 17th-century living museum.

We continue along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” and wind through the fragrant Rose Valley (Kelaat M’gouna). Our driving segment concludes early in the afternoon inside the striking rock formations of the Dades Valley. You will have plenty of daylight left to hike among the famous “Monkey Fingers” geological cliffs before enjoying a traditional dinner at your valley hotel.

  • Driving Time: Approx. 3 hours.

  • Accommodations: Traditional Riad/Hotel in Dades Valley.

  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.

Following a relaxed breakfast, we drive to the nearby Todra Gorge, a massive limestone canyon where a crystal-clear river cuts through 300-meter-tall vertical cliff faces. Take an extended walk along the canyon floor to appreciate its immense scale.

From Todra, we push eastward toward the pre-Saharan plains, stopping in the fossil-carving center of Erfoud. As we approach Merzouga, the black stone desert suddenly gives way to the massive orange wall of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you will board your camel caravan to trek into the heart of the dunes as the sun paints the sand in deep shades of gold and red. Arrive at your desert camp for tea, a traditional Saharan feast, and an unforgettable evening of Berber music around the campfire under a blanket of stars.

  • Driving Time: Approx. 4.5 hours.

  • Accommodations: Private desert tent (Standard or Luxury options available).

  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.

This day is dedicated entirely to the Sahara. Wake up early to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise over the dune peaks. After breakfast, we board our private 4×4 vehicle for a comprehensive off-road tour of the Erg Chebbi region.

We will visit real nomadic families living in traditional wool tents to learn about their seasonal survival strategies and share a cup of mint tea. Next, we stop in the village of Khamlia to listen to the spiritual, rhythmic Gnawa music performed by local desert musicians. After enjoying a traditional Saharan “Madfouna” (Berber stuffed pizza) for lunch, you can spend the afternoon relaxing at a desert pool or exploring the high dunes at your own pace.

  • Driving Time: Approx. 2 hours (Off-road exploration).

  • Accommodations: Private desert tent or a traditional desert-edge Kasbah hotel.

  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.

After breakfast, we leave the sand dunes behind and begin our return journey. Our first stop is Rissani, the ancient capital of the Tafilalet region and the cradle of the Alaouite Dynasty, where we explore the authentic, bustling local souk.

We then track west across the rugged desert landscapes of Alnif and cut through the lush, palm-lined spans of the Draa Valley—Morocco’s longest continuous oasis. We break for lunch along the route before making our final crossing back over the High Atlas Mountains. You will arrive back in Marrakech for an evening drop-off at your Riad or hotel door by approximately 06:30 PM – 07:30 PM.

  • Driving Time: Approx. 8 hours (with regular rest stops).

  • Meals: Breakfast included.
